Sometimes all the website terminology and jargon used can be quite confusing. Let us help you with some of it:
CMS – Content Management System. This is a system (normally web-based) that allows users, who have no knowledge of programming languages, to be able to add, modify or remove content from a website. Generally, a website would have a back-end where approved users can login and make changes to the website that is visible to public users. WordPress is an example of a CMS.
Fluid Web Design – Fluid design is used in responsive websites to enable content to resize based on screen size, as well as shift content around on the web page to make the page more readable.
Responsive Web Design – This means that a website is able to respond to the size of the screen it is displayed on. When on a large computer screen the website shows more information, when on a smaller screen like a phone it shows less information or displays it in a more vertical layout. This technique makes the website easier to read and more pleasant to look at no matter the device used to view the website.
